Smooth Guide Updates

Users familiar with the Smooth Guide may know that we have, in the past, posted and maintained a list of updates and corrections on this website. As the lastest edition of the Guide is now nearly 3 years old, the task of keeping up-to-date with all these changes has grown to where it is impractical to list everything here.

The following list is therefore limited to where there have been significant changes around how an organisation is contacted - e.g. change of address or telephone number - or where services that are listed are known to have closed. For the most current information available, please feel free to browse the online version - the Smooth Guide Mental Health Directory - accessible via the 'Search Online' link from the menu.
p. 3.12 The Children's Information Service has renamed itself to Sheffield Information Link.
p. 3.15 Cruse have relocated to Alpha House, Carver Street.
p. 3.18 Depression Alliance Sheffield was wound up in 2004 due to lack of membership.
p. 3.23 Friends, formerly a social group for families living with autism, has unfortunately closed due to lack of new members.
p. 3.24 Greenfingers Horticultural Project is now the SAGE Greenfingers Horticultural Project and has moved to Minna House, 30 Minna Road, Sheffield S3 9AZ.
p. 3.24 The Gambling Treatment Service no longer exists.
p. 3.25 The Health Information Library Service is now operating under the name of Sheffield Primary Care Trust Library Service.
p. 3.27 Heeley Women's Counselling Service is now closed.
p. 3.28 The Sheffield City Council's Homeless Services Section is now known as the Housing Solutions Service.
p. 3.29 The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service is no longer provided care of the Barnsley CAB.
p. 3.35 Marriage Care Hallam should now be contacted on 0800 389 3801.
p. 3.40 Nomad Advice and Support Unit have moved to 90 - 92 West Street.
p. 3.52 Rethink have completed the move of its base (2005) to 176 Eyre Street, S1, as mentioned in the Guide, but there telephone number has changed from that given. You should now use (0114) 267 7660.
p. 3.56 SACMHA have relocated to 84 Andover Street. Their contact number hasn't changed.

Share Psychotherapy are now based at 73 Wilkinson Street, S10 2GJ. Tel: (0114) 273 0200.
p. 3.69 Sheffield Community Access and Interpreting Service (SCAIS) has a contact number different from that given in the Guide - 0845 124 8889.
p. 3.70 Sheffield Gayphone have now ceased operating.
p. 3.59 Sheffield Samaritans have moved to 272 Queens Road, Sheffield S2 4DL, but the phone numbers have not changed.
p. 3.83 SODIT (Survivors of Depression in Transition) should now be contacted at the business address: Office 27, Woodbourn Business Centre, Jessell Street, Sheffield S9 3HY. Tel: (0114) 242 1700.
p. 3.85 SYEDA (South Yorkshire Eating Disorders Association) have moved to 18 Upperthorpe, S6 3NA (behind the Upperthorpe Healthy Living Centre). Their telephone number, however, has not changed.
p. 3.91 Take My Hand is no longer operational.
p. 3.95 Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW) is now closed.
p. 3.95 Wooton House has now closed.
