New Mental Health Information Service for Sheffield

Sheffield Mind has been commissioned by Sheffield City Council to develop and maintain a new mental health information service for the city.

The service will be delivered primarily through the development of a new website to replace the current Smooth Guide website (this site) and online Mental Health Directory (www.smoothguidesheffield.info/mhd). In addition there will be a pocket guide and directory of services similar to, but smaller than, the current Smooth Guide booklet.

We are aiming for a launch in November 2008 and are keen, in developing the new service, to find out more about people's experience of using the existing sources of mental health information. We would also wish to canvas ideas around what people would find helpful in a new service that is not currently available.

A questionnaire has been prepared for this purpose and I would like to invite anyone with an interest in mental health information provision - whether as a service user, carer, mental health professional, etc. - to send us their views and comments by filling it in.

Thank you.
